The Brenner base tunnel (BBT) crosses the Alps along the Munich-Verona axis between Innsbruck and Franzensfeste/Fortezza. With its length of 55 kilometers, it will be the second longest tunnel in the world, once the connection has been made.

Tunnel lengths:
Ampass: 1.350 m
Sill gorge to the Ahrental crossing: 3.300 m
Ahrental to the Sill gorge crossing: 2.400 m

  • Approx. 30 km fibre optic cables (Multi- and Single mode)
